3D Printing for Biomedicine
The workshop will focus on the convergence of microfluidics and 3D printing for the manufacturing of advanced biomaterials with high potential in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The workshop will be structured in two parts. During the first session, an overview of the current state-of-the-art in biofabrication will be presented together with a critical analysis of how microfluidics could further advance this research field. The second part is envisioned to be practical. The participants will have the possibility to have a hands-on session with a microfluidic-assisted 3D printers and learn how to build a cell-friendly, complex hydrogel-based constructs for medical applications.
