Liquid flows can be regulated and controlled in ducts with diameters less than 1 mm using miniaturised FESTO duct plates. Functional solutions such as FESTO piezo valve terminals are making important contributions to "lab on a chip" concepts. Major processes in preparation and analysis of samples are: dosing in the 1ul range the delivery and controlled switching of liquid reagents, mixing and separation of liquids and conditioning operations like heating, cooling. The required liquid flows are fed to the microfluidic chip by pressure control via a manifold duct plate equipped with FESTO valves. Pressure regulation with the valve terminal allows precise and completely pulse free delivery through up to 8 ducts at the same time and in parallel therefore 1 sample can be used for several tests |
